Rose-Carrot Facial Toner

Last week on Facebook I talked about how a main ingredient in conventional acne treatments in salicylic acid (and many other nasty ingredients) and how that ingredients stems from plants....like the White willow. Of course, in conventional products its not actually plant based but a synthetic version.

Teenagers (and adults) can be quite stressed about their face...especially if they have acne. Conventional products take the approach of burning things off and drying the face out...and with ingredients that can cause endocrine issues.

That approach is completely backwards!

On the blog last week, we worked on creating a Rosehip Facial Oil...and yes an oily face will benefit from an oil because it will tell your body that it doesn't need to product as much! It is a soothing facial oil with herbs to help soothe redness and repair damage. With only 4 ingredients, you can feel good about your teenage using it.

This week we are focusing on a toner. This helps overall skin health. Here, I am focusing on a very gentle toner, rather than an astringent toner which can dry out the skin.

Carrot seed essential oil is mentioned throughout the skin care section of The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy by Valerie Ann Worwood. For those using essential oils in your home, I highly recommend her book (she has several greats ones).

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce Rose hydrosol
  • 1 ounce distilled water
  • 2 drops Carrot seed essential oil
  • Dark amber glass bottle
